Assassin’s Creed 4 multiplayer DLC announced

With surprisingly short notice, Ubisoft have today announced that the first pack of multiplayer DLC for Assassin’s Creed 4 will be released tomorrow, December 10th, for Xbox 360, Xbox One and PC, and on Wednesday 11th for PS3 and PS4. [The Wii U version of Assassin’s Creed 4 was announced earlier this year as not receiving DLC]
There are no new maps or game modes, but the pack has three new characters to play as:
- Blackbeard – the infamous Edward Teach himself, with his playable persona described in the release as “a feared pirate [...] his preferred kill moves include using his tremendous strength to throw his targets off balance and then quickly finishing them with one clean strike”
- The Orchid – a “Templar-friendly assassin” (presumably, assassin rather than Assassin), who is depicted as a Chinese swordswoman but armed with a katana with which she “executes opponents swiftly and gracefully”.
- The Jaguar – an Aztec warrior who took to the sea to fight the Spanish, and who “fights like his namesake, striking swiftly and quietly with his preferred weapon, a discreet axe.”
A price has not been announced, although players who have paid for the Season Pass will have access to this content included, along with other multiplayer content referred to as coming in the near future.
