Xbox One – Live support regions listed
Xbox One will ship worldwide in November – that much we do know. What we now also know is which, of those regions of the globe, will actually have Xbox Live support on launch day – keep in mind this also means which regions will actually be able to use their consoles on launch day as the Xbox One needs to call the mother ship before you can play.
So the regions that Xbox Live will be running for when Xbox One hits the shelves are as follows:
- Australia
- Austria
- Belgium
- Brazil
- Canada
- Denmark
- Finland
- France
- Germany
- Ireland
- Italy
- Mexico
- Netherlands
- New Zealand
- Norway
- Russia
- Spain
- Sweden
- Switzerland
- United Kingdom
- United States

Oh, it just gets better and better, doesn’t it? Perhaps it’s an oversight, perhaps it’s a sign of some regions simply not worth the effort, but there doesn’t seem to be anything about the non-launch areas getting support at a later date… Obviously there will be – Japan seems to be a huge oversight, for example – but I wonder if Pakistan, or Madagascar, or Nepal (for three random examples) will just be ignored ad infinitum?
(and that’s taking on faith that the countries covered on day one actually have perfect service straight out of the box with no glitches, bugs or other issues relating to connection – the Simcity debacle gave us some idea of just how wrong it can go.)
