At just under $100, it may be a stretch for some gamer's budgets.

The AVIOR 8200 Gaming Mouse is a product created with the customer in mind. If you want to be able to just take it out of the box and play, you can do that. If you want to assign each button to your specifications, even down to the lights, you can do that. Even better – you can do all that in perfect comfort. Whether you’re a lefty, a righty, or something in between, the AVIOR 8200 fits comfortably in your hand – in the first hour, and in the hours beyond.

Full Fiendish Findings...

As a lefty, I can’t tell you how hard it is to find a mouse that really works comfortably for gaming. But that isn’t a problem confined to southpaws – whether your quirk is a claw hand grip, a habit of switching sides, or you just want a mouse that can handle whatever you throw at it, the AVIOR 8200 promises a comfort that works for any playing style.

As you pull the AVIOR 8200 out of its sleek, black box, you’ll notice there aren’t any extras to keep track of – it’s a wired mouse without any removable pieces, and even the manual is just a simple, folded paper (with more in depth instruction available online). It’s completely plug and play, and works immediately after plugging into the nearest USB port. No installations are necessary (although you may want to download the software later in order to set up customizable profiles), and your computer will recognize it right away. There is nothing more tiresome than getting a shiny new piece of tech and then having to wait through endless assemblies and installations before you can play with it, so the ease of use with the AVIOR 8200 is most definitely appreciated.

So what’s under the hood? This gaming mouse features an 8200 DPU laser sensor, 32 bit ARM processor, and 128K built in memory. It even comes with a tool called S.Q.A.T. (surface quality analyzer tool) that measures the quality of tracking on whatever surface you choose to game on. We tested the mouse using Mionix’s Ensis 320 Aluminum Mousepad, which was designed with the surface analyzer for maximum performance. It provides a generously sized smooth surface that is lightweight and nonslip, ensuring the optimum conditions for gaming. While the Ensis 320 is ideal, the mouse was sensitive and responsive on a variety of surfaces, including a standard mousepad, a wooden table, and the mattress on my bed (hey, sometimes you just gotta get your game on in bed).

Performance is obviously a necessity, but I like my hardware with comfort and style as well. As a lefty, the former is not often easy to find. Using a standard mouse means either playing with the non-dominant hand or clutching it in an awkward grip that never really feels good. Buying a strictly left handed mouse means needing to switch hardware between users, so the idea of an ambidextrous mouse immediately caught my attention. But how comfortable can it be, if it isn’t molded to a specific hand? Quite, actually.

First off, the AVIOR 8200 has a soft, smooth finish that feels great in your hand, whether in the first minutes of play, or after hours of use. The rubberized coating gives it the soft feel, but also ensures you won’t have slippage from sweaty fingers. The lighted scroll wheel is also rubberized, which is a really nice touch for several reasons – for one thing, it’s just plain comfortable under your fingers, but more importantly, there isn’t any finger slippage in tense moments. On the top of the mouse, you have your left and right click with scroll wheel and two buttons running through the center of the two, as well as two buttons on either side of the mouse. When you lay your hand onto it, right or left, your fingers naturally fall comfortably into position, with all the buttons instantly accessible.

As you’d expect from any respectable gaming mouse, the AVIOR 8200 has a lot of bells and whistles that serve well to enhance your play. The LED lighting system offers a variety of options that are completely customizable to your tastes, with literally millions of color options and a range of different effects. In fact, the AVIOR 8200 is all about customization – this is a mouse that gamers can truly make their own. By going to Mionix’s website, you can quickly and easily download the software that will allow you to pimp your mouse to your heart’s content. Just as nice is the fact that if you aren’t the type to want to to do that sort of thing, your mouse is completely serviceable and usable as is as well.

For maximum convenience, you can set up nine different profiles, each coinciding with one of the nine buttons on your AVIOR 8200 gaming mouse. Whether you want to assign a macro, a button push, or just a mouse command, these easily accessible buttons are sure to amp your speed and give you an edge up on the competition. Different profiles can also be programmed, ensuring you have an optimal setup for whichever game your playing, all at the push of a button.
