Microsoft to Allow Self-Publishing on Xbox One

Something’s gotten into Microsoft, and let’s face it, no one’s complaining about it. After a poorly received E3 showing, the company is now addressing its flaws one by one. This time, they’ve announced that indie developers will be able to self-publish in on the Xbox Live Marketplace.

In addition, at some point after launch, and Xbox One console will be able to be used as a development kit, replacing the specialized units that have to be specifically requested by game developers. This is something unheard of in the console industry. Maybe,  just maybe, this means the Xbox One could house indie games just as well as the PC at some point. We can hope, right?
