EA Closes Phenomic Branch

EA Phenomic, developer of F2P social game Command & Conquer Tiberium Alliances has been closed by EA, due to what EA is calling a “realignment”.
This marks a continuation of a trend that’s been seen in EA’s bsiness plan lately, as they’ve been closing studios that create small social, and F2P games, like BioWare San Francisco, and placing similar microtransaction shops in their larger games.
While flying a bit under the radar lately, Phenomic was formed in 1997 and developed the Spellforce series, before being purchased by EA and focusing on RTS games. The studio was based in Germany and employed a team of around 40 so.
EA has promised that the studio’s closure will not affect the upkeep of its games.
