After being released back in 2011, the newest Mortal Kombat game was praised as a return to form, following some less than stellar entries. Unfortunately, the fun was limited to those with an Xbox or PlayStation. Not anymore, as the game has now been successfully ported to PC by High Voltage Studios.

The game is now available to purchase as a digital download, with a physical release scheduled for early August. For the asking price of $29.99 you get the base game, plus all of the released DLC, which includes classic costumes, fatalities, and characters such as Rain, Kenshi, and Freddy Krueger.

Fortunately, the word on the street is that High Voltage did a bang up job on the port, with improvements in graphics and frame rate over the console version. Also, is appears the online mode is actually works, which puts it a step above the original release. One complaint however, is that the story mode cutscenes are of an oddly low video quality, which is lame, but hey, baby steps, right?
