Supergiant Games, developers of 2011′s critically loved action role-playing game Bastion, have released a teaser trailer for their next game, Transistor.

The video shows off plenty of gameplay footage of the sci-fi RPG, which was revealed on Supergiant Games blogpost. The blog also confirms that PAX East visitors will be able to play a build of the game. Whilst some of the location artwork feels very Final Fantasy VII, the trailer itself has a Ghost In The Shell vibe to it. So in short, it looks promising.

The blog describes the background narrative for the game:

In Transistor, players assume the role of a young woman who gains control of a powerful weapon after a mysterious group of assailants nearly kills her with it. Now she must fight from street to street against forces that will stop at nothing to recover the weapon. During the course of the adventure, players will piece together the Transistor’s mysteries as they pursue its former owners.

More will be revealed during the PAX East coverage, and the game itself is slated to drop early 2014.

Playing games since I'd developed enough motor functions to hold a joystick. From Commodore 64 all the way through to the latest gen. Favourite games to play are FPS games and anything with a deep and compelling story and a world that draws you in. I also enjoy writing, film making and playing bass in whatever band will have me :)
