The Lego games have always had a strong sway on adults as much as children, particularly with much loved franchises like Lego Star Wars and Lego Indiana Jones. However TT Games may well have hit on a jackpot of a game that will be snapped up by both kids and adults alike if this trailer is anything to go by with Lego City Undercover.

The latest game from the Lego franchise has you playing the role of Chase McCain, an undercover cop trying to bring down organised crime from the inside. The game play trailer shows that this latest Lego title is living up to it’s promise of an open world sandbox title, it’s GTA for all the family. The trailer shows off some of the character’s interactions with the environment such as climbing poles and swinging with a grappling hook, as well as the combat mechanics and a look at some of the vehicles you’ll get to pilot.

What’s also thoroughly enjoyable are the cut scenes which reveals a good depth of characterisation and humour in the script, with the characterisation completely unbounded from existing franchises and plot-lines

Lego City Undercover is a Wii U exclusive, with Nintendo themselves as the publishers. It will be available on the 18th March in North America and 28th March in the EU.

Which is a real shame, because I don’t have a Wii U, and I *really* like the look of this!

Playing games since I'd developed enough motor functions to hold a joystick. From Commodore 64 all the way through to the latest gen. Favourite games to play are FPS games and anything with a deep and compelling story and a world that draws you in. I also enjoy writing, film making and playing bass in whatever band will have me :)
