As part of Doctor Who’s 50th Anniversary Celebration the BBC has announced that it plans to release 11 short stories based in the beloved sci-fi universe. Each book will deal with one of the doctors re-generations (Doctors 1-11) and will be penned by a beloved children’s author. On the top of the most likely list is JK Rowling whose Harry Potter books have become the best selling literary series in history. The authors will be officially announced on Monday January 7th on the Official Doctor Who Facebook Page. The first short story will be released as e-books on the same page Wednesday January 23rd.  Other authors sure to be on the BBC’s short list include  Michelle Paver, Susan Price, Kate Thompson, Anthony Horowitz, Geraldine McCaughrean, Philip Pullman and Alan Garner. Puffin will also be publishing paperback versions of the stories in November.
