Bringing you opinions on the latest news for films, comics, TV, videogames and more – welcome to episode 17 of the Nerds Assemble podcast.

In this week’s episode – Paul, Paul (Cookie), Paul (Retroid) and I sigh in relief during our chat about BioShock Infinite and Cookie is quite disappointed by one piece of news that broke just before we started recording.

First up: we take a look at the new Dizzy Returns Kickstarter. While the guys seem intrigued by the Oliver Twins decision to turn to the crowd funding platform, we can’t help wonder at their fundraising goal. And the guys get all nostalgic about the original games. (You can read Peter’s recent piece on Kickstarter here.)

Then we check out the news that BioShock Infinite will not have multiplayer. After the mixed results of the attempt to shoehorn the mode into BioShock 2, the news from Ken Levine comes as a great relief.

Ever wondered what would have happened if Steven Spielberg directed a James Bond film? Well, we’ll never know according to new revelations from the director. We discuss what might (or might not) have been.

Cookie gets a tear in his eye when I reveal that Merlin is on its series and won’t be coming back after Christmas.

Finally: we take a look back at our favourite cartoons and animations from when we were kids. Shows covered include Batman: The Animated Series, Transformers, Thundercats, X-Men, Ulysses 31 and many others.
