Bringing you opinions on the latest news for films, comics, TV, videogames and more – welcome to episode 14 of the Nerds Assemble podcast.

In this week’s episode, Paul, Paul, Paul and I are back to our regular format as we dissect some of the biggest news to come out in the past week, from Spaceballs to Star Wars and everything in between – we’ve got you covered.

Before we get to the meat of the episode, we offer up some speculation as to 2000 AD’s hint that Judge Dredd could be “coming out” in a January issue of the weekly comics title – will they really, or is it his clone Rico kissing that guy in the picture they posted online, and what happened to Dredd being “married to the law”?

We hope that Bryan Singer, who’s now officially taking over the director’s chair for X-Men: Days of Future Past, won’t be about to pull a Superman Returns (those who listened last week will know what we mean). The good news is that Matthew Vaughn is still a producer for the film.

And have you heard about the rumours of  Guillermo del Toro being set to direct a supernatural-esque JLA film called “Heaven Sent”? So had we, but not all is at it seems.

Meanwhile, on the day of recording the podcast the trailer for the new Dragborn DLC for Skyrim dropped, which led to us having a very speculative discussion about what it could be bringing to the game.

Finally – we have a look at what Disney’s purchase of LucasFilm means for Star Wars, Industrial Light & Magic, LucasArts and Indiana Jones.
