Criterion teases both Burnout & Road Rash titles

Need for Speed Most Wanted ships in a few days time now – so someone asked Criterion what was next!

The Guardian newspaper here in the UK decided to pose a question during and interview with Criterion Creative Director, Craig Sullivan.  The put to Sullivan a query of, apart from crazy-awesome car games, what else might the team like to work on.  His answer induced more than a minor nerd-gasm!

“There’s still a lot of stuff we want to do with driving,” Sullivan then went on to say, “We will make another Burnout game at some point.  Obviously, as we’re working on NFS we’re thinking of really good ideas that aren’t right for this series; there are ideas that we’re going to explore with Burnout. And we wouldn’t be making NFS or Burnout games if we didn’t think the driving genre had a long shelf life and that we could push the boundaries.”

That alone was enough to cause minor palpitations.. then he casually drops in the cherry on top of the cake:

“We might make a Road Rash game.  But then we might make a game without vehicles in it. I mean, we made Black, I was the lead designer; we might make a game about blowing the crap out of each other.  But Road Rash seems like a good fit for Criterion.”

Feel free to take this moment to go “OMG OMG OMG OMG!” in your head!

Need for Speed Most Wanted launches on November 2nd on PC, PS3, Xbox 360, Vita and mobile platforms.
