Hackers Take Out Entire Cities In World of Warcraft

In WoW news this weekend, Blizzard had their hands full when both characters and NPC’s were killed at alarming rates.

Hackers are claiming responsibility for wiping out entire cities–every single character, and one even posted a video of his exploits here.  Rumors are abounding in the WoW world that the hackers responsible for the mass kills were banned, enraging them and resulting in them destroying cities.

Blizzard was aware of the issue, and got everything taken care of as quickly as possible. They have officially acknowledged that the vulnerability that the hackers exploited has been fixed, and that it is once again safe to say. They are reportedly being very aggressive in seeking out everyone responsible for the hack.
